The fact that it's received more than 25,000 views is an indication that many people suffer from this problem. sJhonny -- totally agree with ya mate. Eclipse turns me off from programming in Java. Oh, and by the way, if anyone's wondering: exactly a year on since I posted this question... I still haven't solved the problem. lel –Fezzo May 3 '14 at 12:18 | show 2 more commen

I've set the PATH variables on this computer to JRE6, JRE7 and JDK 1.7.0 even though these aren't set on my laptop. I did have Jar file (last.fm-bindings-0.1.1.jar) that was in my .classpath file that was in C:\Users\Chris\Downloads folder on my laptop hence it wasn't included in the git tree which I recently brought into the project folder and committed ,but I'm not sure whether I have done it right. Would this also be causing a problem but there isn't a main argument in there. I can't work out now, what I need to check/change. java eclipse git jar classpath share|improve this question edited Aug 28 '15 at 13:26 Sam Farajpour Ghamari 5,44222036 asked Jun 27 '12 at 22:45 Chris 305148 14 Did you try Project>Clean and Project>Build Project? –javaCity Jun 27 '12 at 22:55 2 Multiple times and it doesn't seem to have worked –Chris Jun 27 '12 at 23:00 possible duplicate of Error: Could not find or load main class –Ken White Jun 27 '12 at 23:01 system environmental classpath includes . I read somewhere that I need to do some run configurations or add some JARS or external JARS but that all went over my head. That indicates a major problem with your project (not just one file), and you should look at that Problems view. Most likely, you don't have the JDK installed or configured correctly. –chrylis Mar 31 '14 at 7:16 possible duplicate of Error: Could not find or load main class –Rakesh KR Mar 31 '14 at 7:17 @chrylis - The code compiles with CMD and I've set up environment variables as well. Could you please explain how do I achieve this? –Mehul Mohan Mar 31 '14 at 7:20 | show 2 more comments 7 Answers 7 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote accepted You need to mark your class as public so that runtime is able to call & execute it. EDIT: So with the new image in your question, i can see that your JRE mapping is not correct under your project settings. Here is how you can update that: Right click on project -> Java Build Path -> Libraries tab -> double click listed JRE library -> select the appropriate JRE share|improve this answer answered Mar 31 '14 at 7:14 June
