This is what I'm doing: 1 https://www.devexpress.com/Support/Center/Question/Details/Q144414 - Right click on project -> Add -> New Item... -> Report (or Report Wizard); 2 - Add a dataset: create a data source from database (the connection is working fine, I can see my tables and columns); 3 - Select some tables and columns for my dataset (none of them has reserve words like 'system'); 4 - Get the error Could not get type information for [app].[dataset]. I already tried: 1 - delete my settings (connection) and recreate 2 - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/32405328/dataset-could-not-get-type-information-for-app-dataset closed VS2013 and reopened Nothing works, every time the same error. Does anyone has a clue, please? Thanks ======================================= I forgot to mention that I already did this once. I was trying to add a data set to test, I did it, so I decided to delete and do it again. Since that I never was able to do it again. c# .net visual-studio-2013 reporting-services share|improve this question edited Sep 8 '15 at 17:53 asked Sep 4 '15 at 19:33 lpfx 234318 maybe you have one of reserved keywords in your database schema? –hmnzr Sep 4 '15 at 19:42 I doubt, it is sadly all in portuguese –lpfx Sep 4 '15 at 19:47 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer? You cannot use the class name itself to qualify a member that is not shared. The instance must first be declared as an object variable and then referenced by the variable name. Error ID: BC30469 To correct this error Declare the instance as an object variable. Reference the instance by the variable name. I dont know what this means or where to put the declarations and references (Last time I tried to make a Project similar to this it just worked when I use SQL Server rather than Access MDB) Last edited by George1111; April 22nd, 2007 at 11:36 AM. I am new to ADO.NET and have a emergency problem to slove. I am using VS 2005 to open a solution that created by previous VS. After the solution is upgraded by VS, I was gonna add a data souce to the form. The destinated database is a sample called Northwind. But right after I want to add a table called "employee" as the object database in dataset, I got an error "error using the dropdown: Could not get type information for 'Getting_Started.NorthwindDataSet'" I created a test form and did the same procedure but got no error at all. So I guess there must be something wrong with using VS 2005 to open solution created by previous VS. Can anyone help me solving this problem? Thanks.Hi, you are not using handcrafted Dataset. The ones mentioned seem to be designer-built. Therefore the old connection string is still in place for them. If the connection string changed in the meantime, you will have to go into the definition of the DataSet (Right click on the object and "Go to definition") and you will find the gernerated class. Somewhere in the code you will find the connection object which is configured to have a certain connection st
