Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) I have no idea what is causing this or how I could debug it to find the

cause. I've done a search in my solution catalogs .csproj files, and every where I have Unity I have: Reference Include="Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=2.0.414.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35, processorArchitecture=MSIL" Can't find any reference anywhere which goes against 1.2.0.0 in any of my projects. Any ideas how I should go about solving this? I would also appreciate tips on how to debug problems like this in general. c# .net reference compiler-errors share|improve this question edited Aug 29 '12 at 9:54 abatishchev 56.8k56214353 asked Dec 17 '10 at 11:13 ronag 18.9k1375152 1 Could any of your referenced assemblies be using some stuff in old Unity library? –decyclone Dec 17 '10 at 11:19 2 Probably... but how can I find which assemblies? I have a lot of projects in my solution and a lot of potential suspects... trial and error bruteforce seems a bit hopeless... –ronag Dec 17 '10 at 11:21 You only have to look into the referenced assemblies in the project for which you get this error. –decyclone Dec 17 '10 at 11:26 3 It's not the assembly reference, you reference version 2.0. But at runtime, the CLR is finding 1.2, an old version. If you don't see that old DLL in your build directory then use Fuslogvw.exe

Recently (due to some weird bugs) I wanted to use Visual Studio's debugger so I opened the code in VS. However, when I attempted to compile the code I got the following error: Error 2 Could not load file http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/149337/could-not-load-file-or-assembly-or-one-of-its-dependencies or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.SharePoint.Tools, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Most everything I've seen told me my problem is that I'm trying to use VS 2010 with SP 2013, which is a no no. Issue is, I am currently in VS 2012. Is there a further error I'm unaware of? I can add the code, but as it is like 700-900 lines worth of code, so unless people need to see it I was leaving it out. sharepoint-online visual-studio-2012 napa share|improve this question edited Dec 10 '15 at 9:03 Robert Lindgren♦ 19.2k62951 asked Jul 15 '15 at 21:34 HadesHerald 1014 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote I was also getting same error: could not load file or assembly microsoft.office.sharepoint.tools.dll or one of its dependency. I was working on SharePoint 2013 App Development (SharePoint Online). Everything was working smoothly. Suddenly I started getting error when I deploy the app. My office got uninstalled because of some reason. It also leads to uninstalled few components related to SharePoint office. I found SharePoint Online development have dependency on "SharePoint Server 2013 Client Components SDK".
