I am running a PreReq utility to confirm it is setup prior to installing Infor Approva 10.0. The utility keeps returning the above error. After some research it seems that error is usually thrown because IIS Express is installed and the wrong reference is being used http://stackoverflow.com/questions/27517831/could-not-load-file-or-assembly-microsoft-web-administration-version-7-9-0-0 which is fixed by either uninstalled IIS Express or changing the binding in aspnet.config. However I've confirmed that IIS express is not installed, so I was wondering why this error is being thrown? There aren't any existing references in the aspnet.config or the machine.config files. iis-7.5 windows-server-2008-r2 iis-express share|improve this question asked Dec 17 '14 at 3:25 Tuxedowfu 62 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Microsoft.Web.Administration.dll is located in folder %windir%\System32\inetsrv. You can find it on your machine and check its version. I think this issue is caused by a wrong assumption of Approva's PreReq, and you should contact their technical support for assistance. It is very likely that the vendor misunderstood IIS and IIS Express, and had a wrong reference to MWA set in their product. share|improve this answer edited May 30 '15 at 5:06 answered Dec 17 '14 at 13:00 Lex Li 29.2k34365 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Em

Did you mean that you installed the Remote Manager software on XP ? In ordre for you to use the Administration Pack you need to install it on your acutally Windows 2008 Server and then you can use the Remote could not load Manager for IIS7 to get the client pieces on your XP machine. You can install Internet Information Services 7.0 Manager on XP. Administration pack requires Windows Server 2008 to be installed. In order for Admin Pack to work on the Manager it has to be installed on the server you are connecting to.
