My rsa key works if I ssh to the server but if Itry to scp using the rsa key Iget the following error. C:\Program Files\ICW\bin\sshd.exe: *** fatal error - could not load user32, Win32 error 1114 Ihave included a verbose connection attempt. I've double checked all my permissions and I don't see anything that should cause a problem. I'm hoping someone here will be able to point me in the right direction or suggest troubleshooting ideas. I get the following trying to login to my "git" user via SSH http://serverfault.com/questions/101780/cygwin-openssh-and-gitosis-on-windows-server-2008 or trying to checkout the repository via "git clone git(at)localhost:gitosis-admin.git" [main] sshd 9364 C:\cygwin\usr\sbin\sshd.exe: *** fatal error - could not load user32, Win32 error 1114 fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly I found some hints that the I have to set serveral group policies regarding user tokens - but doing so didn't help either... windows-server-2008 ssh cygwin git share|improve this question asked Jan 12 '10 at 1:27 scooby37 814 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted I've run into the same problem, both with Shannon Cornish's approach and with Tim Davis' approach. I'm still stuck. Have you tried Tim Davis' approach as well? I've read on various cygwin-related sites that if the SSH daemon is running (indirectly) as a Windows administrator then this problem goes away. I'm running cygwin/sshd as a user who's in the admin group, so has full privileges to all files but I still get the same Win32 error 1114 as you. Please post back if you've resolved the problem or if any of either of my pointers works for you. Edit: A Cygwin dev describes the relationship between cyg_server, Win32 errors, and Domain security. I haven't fully ruled this out a

When I do git push or clone using tortoisegit or git extension with key authentication it always failed with Stack trace:\sshd.exe: * fatal error - could not load u, Win32 error 1114 But when I load the same key using putty it works okay. I did try to change tortoisegit ssh could not load client using plink.exe still not work. I tried to change authentication method using password after i delete authorized_key file from home/user/.ssh directory and all git commands works okay. So what makes it all wrong ? Please help... When you authenticate using password you dont have to be administrator to have permissions to clone (read) or push (write) but when you authenticate using pair key you need to have administrator privileges even though you had set full control permissions to your destination folder. share|improve this answer answered Dec 23 '10 at 11:26 v14nt0 110210 Thanks!
