What procedure and settings are you using? Supply as many details as possible. Place the CD you attempted to create in your recorder, and launch Nero and go to Recorder>Choose Recorder. If the session is not properly closed on the CD, you will get two buttons in the bottom left corner of the window that comes up. One will say 'Close Session' and the other 'Close Disc'. Use Close Disc if you do not plan on writing to the CD again, or Close session if you do. Could not perform EndTrack Discussion in 'Nero discussion' started by betoche, Aug 15, 2005. betoche Member Joined: Aug 15, 2005 Messages: 3 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 When I try to write a data CD, I get the "Could not perform EndTrack" error message and this happens a lot! almost every once in a while I AM ABLE to write a CD correctly (sometimes the same CD which had problem previously!). I unistalled the older version and installed the 6.6.0.13 version. I have the windows xp pro and also I have the service pack 2 installed, I don't know if this is something related to O/S or not? I'd appreciate it anybody knows what's going on? Thank you..... betoche, Aug 15, http://www.cdrlabs.com/forums/what-the-heck-could-not-perform-fixation-t7676.html 2005 #1 DVDBack23 Administrator Staff Member Joined: Jun 19, 2005 Messages: 2,531 Likes Received: 4 Trophy Points: 48 Try putting less on the cd, as sometimes you cut it too close when burning and it cannot complete the end track (lead out). I am running Nero version 5.5.10.35 and it keeps giving the error: "Could not perform Fixation" I have tried various types of blank disks (Maxtor, hp ...etc), and I seem to be getting it with all of them. Sometimes it works sometimes could not perform it makes a coaster. I can find no ryhme or reason. It will burn an .iso image fine every time, but if I am making a data cd to back up some work it keeps giving this error. It happens at the beginning of the burn and I have no other burning software installed and I have nothing else running in the back ground. I even run adware daily so no cookies or spyware... I've even tried deleting directories (thought maybe something in a directory may be running in the backgroud). Finally I just tried to burn 2 jpg files and got the same error. Also, can someone please recommend another cd burning program if I don't get this figured out soon I'll have to boot Nero off my machine. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. rhuala ---system--- Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 1 AMD 1700+, 512MB RAM MSI Geforce 4 Ti4400, Latest detonator drivers Creative Soundblaster Live MSI K7T266 Pro2 Motherboard, Latest 4-in-1 drivers Maxtor 80GB, 7200rpm, ATA66 Hard Drive Sony DRU500A

Exactly which version of Nero 7 are you using? If you open Nero StartSmart and then double click the word Nero in the top left corner of the window, it will open Nero ProductSetup and you can see the version number of Nero Burning Rom, for example 7.8.5.0 The latest version is 7.9.6.0 Some earlier versions are known to have caused issues in Vista "The great majority of mankind are satisfied with appearances, as though they were realities, and are often more influenced by the things that seem than by those that are." - Niccolo Machiavelli Grav!
