Access Services :-( ---------------------------- Could not start the Human Interface Device Accessservices on Local Computer. Error 126: The specified module could not be found. ---------------------------- Please help me. Thank you! Bob Bob, Sep 22, 2003 #1 Advertisements Michael Solomon \(MS-MVP Windows Shell/User\) Guest This usually applies to USB mice and Joysticks. Have you made sure your device drivers are up to date? Also, go to Device Manager and look for any red or yellow warnings as these may indicate which device is specifically causing the problem. Open Control Panel, open System, go to the Hardware tab, click Device Manager. -- Michael Solomon MS-MVP Windows https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/975367 Shell/User Backup is a PC User's Best Friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ "Bob" <> wrote in message news:072701c3814d$d8c91eb0$... > I cannot start Human Interface Device Access Services :-( > ---------------------------- > Could not start the Human Interface Device Accessservices > on Local Computer. > > Error 126: The specified module could not be found. > ---------------------------- > > Please help me. > > Thank you! > > Bob Michael Solomon \(MS-MVP Windows Shell/User\), Sep http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/cannot-start-human-interface-device-access-services.287617/ 22, 2003 #2 Advertisements Kelly Guest Hi Bob, The following error will occur if any of the three files (hidserv.dll, mouhid.sys and mouclass.sys) are missing. Paul Anderegg Member Joined: Sep 27, 2006 Messages: 25 Likes Received: 0 I had installed on my computer an HDTV http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/17180361 tuner card, which for lack of a securing screw, was pulled out, tweaked off, the PCI connection with a small tug on the external cable while running the cards program. After reinserting the card, it worked fine, but the could not IR remote that runs through a connection on the card as a USB device, has since failed to operate or communicate with the system. Using Dvicos help FAQ, I checked to see if the HID was listed in the device manager, and alas it was not. On attempt to start the service, I get the above error 126 module not found. I am unfarmiliar with this service and what exactly is meant by module. I am assuming module could not start means software and adaptor means hardware. The Dvico Fusion5 RT remote app is running with the tuner software, but I am not able to use the remote I paid the extra $50 for. This remote is also supposed to be usable for my DVD software and Media Player etc, so it would be very nice to have this operational. Any ideas? Fix it thoughts? According to the instructions, there is no needed driver. So, I tried plugging it in to another Dell computer here at work. Popped up the same "found new hardware" and ID'ed it correctly, but then the balloon changed to " human interface device found" then said "your new hard ware is working properly" and it was. So I looked in the hardware profile of the second computer and it showed the human interface listed but on my computer it didn't. I then did a web search, and found an article that says to make sure it's turned on in the adiministrative/services area. It was disabled. I then changed it to automatic and rebooted..Got the same thing and checked, and the HID was not loaded. I then went back into the services, and tried to "start" HID and got this error:" Error 126: The specified module could not be found" I then double clicked on it and selected "dependancies" and it showed that "remote procedure call" was also needed, it too was disabled. I turned it back on, then went back to HID and I still get the error. I have tried rebooting and nothing works. I then got a Dell USB mouse and it too won't work...Anyone else have this problem and know what is needed to fix it? I guess this is the first time I have ever tried to load anything using the Human Interface driver.. Thanks!
