IN THIS DISCUSSION Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hello, why is the crystal report XI giving me an error on an SQL(date/time stamp) field when I just want to display the DATE only (ie "Date{Date/time field}"). But, when, I run the check it says no error found, but once I drag it on the report and run it. It says Bad Date format string. Sorry, I hardly used crystal reports. Thank you for all your help. Check it out and see if it's a text field, or something else. 0 Habanero OP Briser_fae_the_broch Jun 10, 2010 at 6:20 UTC Does the PC's Regional and Language Options, (click the Customize tab) match the format in the SQL DB? Might not be relevant but I do know I once had to change date format in there for a Crystal reports user that was getting data from an AS400 system. 0 Habanero OP Hubba Bubba Jun 10, 2010 at 7:06 UTC I second Martins reply The formula is correct which is why it says no error but when the report looks at the data it sees the format is not date/time. check the SQL table regards Hubba 0 Ghost Chili OP Jim Kubicek Jun 11, 2010 at 2:51 UTC Kubicek Information Technologies is an IT service provider. Abonto, did you get your answer or maybe can answer the questions asked here? 0 Sonora OP abonto Jun 12, 2010 at 4:23 UTC Hi Jim, no I don't have the answer yet. Hi Martin & Hubba, the database is SQL 2000, and the formula runs perfectly on the Query Analyzer, whether to display just the date, time or formatting etc. But why is the same simple formula not running on crystal reports? Hi Briser, I'll check your recommendation when I get back to the office. Thanks guys! 0 Chipotle OP Best Answer Datadude Jun 15, 2010 at 12:04 UTC
