Exporttohttpresponse Unable To Evaluate Expression
reply: Apr 4, 2011 7:18 PM by Ludek Uher Tweet exportformattype Crystal Reports - VS2010 - ExportToHttpResponse - Error / Delay / Slow Jacob Lake Mar 30, 2011 7:45 PM Currently Being Moderated Using the new release of Crystal Reports for .NET (13.0.xxx)Have a report in the root of my website http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16052417/exporttohttpresponse-gives-unable-to-evaluate-expression-because-the-code-is in visual studio. Have a button click event, that calls a separate method to set the report and stream it back to the client. However, the instant the debugging gets to the ExportToHttpResponse call, it hangs up, and eventually gives me an invalid pointer exception. Here is the code:private void http://scn.sap.com/thread/1924435 SetReport() { ReportDocument rpt = new ReportDocument(); try { rpt.Load(Server.MapPath("~/ExpenseReport.rpt")); rpt.SetDataSource(ds); if (rpt.IsLoaded) { Response.Clear(); Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"; rpt.ExportToHttpResponse(ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat, Response, false, "ExpenseReport.pdf"); rpt.Close(); } } catch (Exception ex) { String error = ""; error = ex.InnerException.ToString(); } }Also, if I comment out the rpt.SetDataSource(ds) line, where I point the report object to a dataset, when it gets to the ExportToHttpResponse method, a NullReferenceException is generated according to the ex.InnerException in the catch block. However, stepping through that allows the Crystal Report to show up as a pdf in the browser, so apparently my dataset assignment is messed up? What is the best way to assign the Report object's datasource to be a dataset?Edited by: nampadev on Mar 30, 2011 7:44 PM 5855Views Re: Crystal Reports - VS2010 - ExportToHttpResponse - Error / Delay / Slow Jacob Lake Mar 31, 2011 5:20 PM (in response to Jacob Lak
