Customerrors Mode= Off / Not Working
Posts Web Config May 29, 2008 04:06 AM|jeyaseelan@ajsquare.net|LINK Hi to all, I have web application project it's workgin fine in local machine, but when i upload it https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/h0hfz6fc(v=vs.71).aspx to the server then i mee the below error Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this http://forums.asp.net/t/1267844.aspx?Web+Config+customErrors+mode+Off+ specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. I know this means to change the custom error mode as off, i also do the same code in my web.config but also return the same error, some time i change the mode into ON / Remoteonly but also return the same error, may i know this error from server or due to my code?, how to solve it ? memebrs help me Any doubts please feel free to ask me. I would like to intercept the default 404 and other non-500 error pages and replace them with something more attractive. To that end, I added the following to my Web.config: ... system.web> I have an Error customerrors mode= on controller with an Index method and corresponding view, but still I get the default 404 error page. I have also tried setting my defaultRedirect to a static html file to no avail. I have tried adding error handling specific to 404's inside , and I even tried modifying the routes programattically, all with no results. What am I missing? Why is ASP ignoring my default error handling? Note: I noticed earlier that I cannot test my CustomHandleErrorAttribute locally, even with Latest Articles Latest Tips/Tricks Top Articles Beginner Articles Technical Blogs Posting/Update Guidelines Article Help Forum Article Competition Submit an article or tip Post your Blog quick answersQ&A Ask a Question about this article Ask a Question View Unanswered Questions View All Questions... In this article I will talk about customizing the default error page, manipulating the configuration file and sending notification to the administrator about errors. Introduction Structured exception handling is a fundamental part of the CLR and provides .NET programmers with a great way of managing errors. In addition to the CLR exception system, ASP.NET also provides ways of handling errors. When a runtime or design-time error occurs in an application, ASP.NET shows a default error page that gives a brief description of the error along with the line number on which the error occurred. A developer would wish to view this default error page, during the testing of the application since the description helps him in
