errors to appear. The web.config contains this line: In ASP.NET 2.0, this is working nicely. In ASP.NET 1.1, we see the detailed error only when running the browser on the same machine as the web server. On any other computer, all we get (from a test app that intentionally generates a 500.19) is "The page cannot customerrors mode off doesn't work be displayed because an internal server error has occurred." If the problem persists please contact the system admin at: ....." We also tried this suggestion but still on an error on the try/catch block the above message gets displayed. We even restarted the IIS to make sure the web.config changes get applied but not luck.
