The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of https://forums.asp.net/t/1267844.aspx?Web+Config+customErrors+mode+Off+ the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. I know this means to change the custom error mode as off, i also do the same code in my web.config but also return the same error, some time i change the mode into ON / Remoteonly but also return the same error, may i know this error from server or due to my code?, how to solve it ? memebrs help me Any doubts please feel free to ask me. I'm sure 3.5 SP1 customerrors mode= on is installed in the server, because I use the setting in other sites hosted in the same server. Any idea? asp.net iis-6 custom-errors redirectmode share|improve this question asked Apr 23 '09 at 14:01 Eduardo Molteni 28.3k18104181 add a comment| 9 Answers 9 active oldest votes up vote 83 down vote It is important to note for anyone trying to do this in an MVC application that ResponseRewrite uses Server.Transfer behind the scenes. Therefore, the defaultRedirect must correspond to a legitimate file on the file system. Apparently, Server.Transfer is not compatible with MVC routes, therefore, if your error page is served by a controller action, Server.Transfer is going to look for /Error/Whatever, not find it on the file system, and return a generic 404 error page! share|improve this answer edited Sep 22 '10 at 16:37 Mike Atlas 6,36232752 answered Sep 22 '10 at 14:28 Michael Hallock 1,056816 I notice a problem also with Web Form and Routing see my questions here stackoverflow.com/questions/7269103/… –GibboK Sep 1 '11 at 12:06 There is a CodePlex issue for allowing ResponseRewrite to work with MVC routes, please vote: aspnet.codeplex.com/workitem/9034 –Dmitry Sep 24 '13 at 13:31 @PussInBoots, here's a archived link web.archive.org/w
