This sounds like a dirty or damaged or defective disc. You might try it in another computer... or simply attempt to read the files with your disc drive just to see what happens. (Try copying some files from the disc and pasting them to your hard drive to see if they can be read.) If you keep getting the same message, or another computer really takes a lot of time to read the disc... you probably have a disc problem. Chec

First of all, yes my pc matches the recommended specs of the game so this is not the issue. The issue is the installation of said game. Every time I go to install Bioshock 2 I encounter the Data error (cyclic redundancy check) corrupted cab2.data etc. I have read https://forums.2k.com/showthread.php?61269-Cannot-install-(Data-error-cyclic-redundancy) in other threads with the same issue and the usual solution tends to be to either copy the DVD's contents to the hard drive and go from there OR failing that, take the disc back to the seller. Again the cyclic redundancy check came up when I tried to copy, so no go on that option. As for the return solution, well I can't exactly travel to America >_> as previously mentioned. So, any further solutions? Is there anywhere I can download the game from with the code on the back of the manual, say from Games for Windows Live? If not, how can I rectify this issue? Are there any noticeable scratches dirt or fingerprints on the underside of the disk? Have you tried copying the data over in safe mode if you are using windows 7 or vista? In otherwords, the file is corrupt and has to be redownloaded, or the CD media is dirty, scratched or defective. Sometimes but not often antivirus software can cause those errors too. Here's some solutions... That type of error could mean the CD is corrupt... Check the CD and the CD Player. Clean both using a Cleaning Kit, and check for scratches on the CD. Try installing the game on another computer, if the game installs, the culprit is probably your CD ROM drive if it doesn't install then it's the CD, in which case you need to replace it. Before replacing the CD, try copying it to your hard drive and then run the setup / installation program from there. To copy the CD go to My Computer, Right-Click the CD, Choose "Copy", then Right- Click on your Hard Drive, Choose "Paste".
