Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check Fix Cd
received when trying to copy the file was a cyclic redundancycheck (CRC) error. In fact, this is the most common error encountered with cd/dvd access or copying problems and I knew that such a problem was often caused by a dirty or scratched disc, so I examined the surface of the cd and just as I suspected, it was marked. It had a distinct smudgeprinton cannot copy data error cyclic redundancy check dvd it. I cleaned the whole cd and after doing so, voila! ,I was able to copy the needed file from the cd to my hard drive.I informed her that the problem was fixed and when I told her it was just a matter of cleaning the disc, she was surprised that the solutionwas so simple and never thought such a confoundingproblem could be caused by a less than pristine condition cd. The fact is that cds and dvds can be very finicky. Just one speck of dirt or a hairline scratch can cause problems in accessing your data or the disc itself. These marks can make it difficult for the drive's laser beam to properly read the disc. Fortunately, dirty discs can be cleaned. Scratches can be more problematic, though, in many cases they can be repaired. With scratches, the severity of the problemdepends muchon the type and location of the scratch.Scratches that run across the disc or along the track, as opposed to those that run in a straight line from rim to center, can be the most difficult to repair. These type of problems are unique

While the above answers may be correct I am wondering if the files are larger than 4GB and you are using FAT32, which can't handle files larger than 4GB. You still might get cyclic redundancy the code1 error so just "retry" and then you will have a fully working GTA5 :) Trazakk :) Trazakk April 16, 2015 10:02 Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google+ Please sign in to leave a comment. 6 comments 0 I too had CRC errors on every disk during installation. Unfortunately this solution did not work for me however I was able to finally get the game working correctly with one slight change, see below: 1) While installing the game, write down the cyclic redundancy check filename and location of every file that has a CRC error. 2) Ignore every CRC error after writing down the filename and location. 3) At the end of the installation DO NOT attempt to start the game because at this point it will waste hours of your time downloading parts of files that are corrupt and will remain so after download. 4) Instead, go to your install directory and delete every file in your list that had a CRC error. 5) Now start the game. This time the update service will download a new copy of all the files you deleted instead of trying to download the corrupt data within those files. Be patient as I had so many corrupt files I had to download 50GB!! The game itself is only 60GB. 6) If your connection to the update service times out, just keep trying until it reconnects. Don't worry, you won't have to start all over again. 7) 4 hours later, depending on the speed of your internet connection, you can now start the game which should now work perfectly!! I hope this helps others who have had these CRC errors :) Paul JoeFarmer81 May 15, 2015 00:27 0 votes Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google+ 0 I just had crc errors for the first time on every disk.....and i fixed it perfectly so no errors at all.....its your ram, no question. As stated, playback is fine - any ideas why I'm getting these errors? The discs are all branded with no scratches etc.. I'm using Windows XP Pro (SP1) and the drive is a Pioneer 106. Any insight into what these CRC errors are and how to transfer the movies would be appreciated. nonzero View Public Profile Find all posts by nonzero #2 Feb 05, 2004, 09:51 AM Stryker_PornStar Veteran Join Date: Mar 2001 Location: Illinois Posts: 516 This usually occurs because of either some bad scratches on the CD that the lazer cannot read through, dirt, corrupted data (from the original file), or CD deterioration. This also tends to occur with cheap CDs and not really not that often with good branded CDs. What brand of CDs are you using? How were the CDs stored? Temperature and other factors (like moisture/humidity) do have a role in these things too.
