A damaged disk likely means you cannot copy the file which is probably illegal anyway due to the EULA (End-user license agreement) and the disk would be missing some copy protection which means the game will not recognize the disk as authentic. Thus preventing the game from launching. Can't find your answer ? Ask ! It is used by computers to specifically check the data stored in the hard drive or optical disks (DVD’s and CD’s). The error code occurs due to the following reasons:Cluttered hard diskRegistry corruptionMisconfigured filesUnsuccessful program installationIf this error is not resolved, it can lead to serious consequences such as: - Data loss - Fatal crash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL-gd7Joe4c - and system failure.Solution:There are two EASY ways to fix this error.Method 1Run the CHKDSK application. This is a built-in feature in your Windows system. It checks for hard disk damage and attempts to resolve it. If not this method do not fix the error, try method 2.Method 2Install and Run Total System Care. file to her desktop, she would get the same error, informing herthe file could not be copied due to some type of corruption. She wanted to know if I could possibly help. I opened the cd in my own http://www.percontra.net/archive/2corruptcddvdrecovery.htm cd-rom drive and tried copying the file she was having a problem with and I realized it couldn't be copied on my system either. Therefore, in all likelihood, itwas the cd itself that was problematic, not the system, player or other hardware. http://www.errorteck.com/good-to-know/computer-terminology/data-error-cyclic-redundancy-check.html The error received when trying to copy the file was a cyclic redundancycheck (CRC) error. In fact, this is the most common error encountered with cd/dvd access or copying problems and I knew that such a problem was often caused by a cyclic redundancy dirty or scratched disc, so I examined the surface of the cd and just as I suspected, it was marked. It had a distinct smudgeprinton it. I cleaned the whole cd and after doing so, voila! ,I was able to copy the needed file from the cd to my hard drive.I informed her that the problem was fixed and when I told her it was just a matter of cleaning the disc, she was surprised that the solutionwas so simple and never thought such cyclic redundancy check a confoundingproblem could be caused by a less than pristine condition cd. The fact is that cds and dvds can be very finicky. Just one speck of dirt or a hairline scratch can cause problems in accessing your data or the disc itself. These marks can make it difficult for the drive's laser beam to properly read the disc. Fortunately, dirty discs can be cleaned. Scratches can be more problematic, though, in many cases they can be repaired. With scratches, the severity of the problemdepends muchon the type and location of the scratch.Scratches that run across the disc or along the track, as opposed to those that run in a straight line from rim to center, can be the most difficult to repair. These type of problems are unique to cd and dvd media because the surfaces of the discs are bare and exposed, offering no protection against dust, finger prints, smudge, dirt and scratches. An exception is most dvd-ram discs which are encased in protective cartridges. Hard drives are enclosed in a tough metal shell and even cheap floppy discs are protected with a plastic cartridge. It should be stated that most scratches and marks do not usually affect playing a cd or dvd butwhen a problem accessing a cd or filedoes occur, the reason is most often dirt or scratches on crucial sections of the disc. For example, if the lead in area or end points is damaged, you will most likely have problems accessing t

Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Checks are problems that are slowly minimizing because of technical resources developed over time. However, they still do happen, and most are totally clueless about what it is, and how exactly you solve this problem. Cyclic Redundancy Checks or CRC's can be considered as a mathematical process done by your computer to ensure that your data is complete when it is transferred. You can think of it as a checking procedure that would identify if the data has been damaged or not. Getting a "Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check" only means that it has failed the test and certain parts of the data being transferred are corrupted. A typical mistake in understanding this is assuming that all of the data transfer is lost. What actually happens during transfer is that the data comes in small blocks, and each of these are assigned a CRC value. If something goes wrong to even one of these blocks between the time it is sent and received. The CRC from the source will no longer match with the data that has arrived. And this is when the "Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check" appears. This error is usually encountered whenever you are trying to read or copy data from a damaged CD. In this case, you get a warning sign that involves a grinding sound while you play your disc. This sound is created by the computer drive trying to read the data repeatedly. After several attempts, if still unsuccessful, the computer will display the "Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check" message. The Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check is not exclusive the CD's and DVD's. This error may also occur when you have trying to open a file that was not properly downloaded from the internet. This error message could also be caused whenever there are system crashes, or when using applications with multiple bugs in t
