There's a random picture on my computer (from a series of pics I took) and for some reason, it won't let me delete this one picture. When I try to I get the following error: Cannot delete [filename]: Data error (cyclic redundancy check) What's causing this and should I be worried? __________________ Talent, vigor, drive... Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: UK Nov 6th, 2006, 08:11 PM CRC is basically a method of determining whether a file is free from errors. It's strange that a CRC error would prevent you from deleting a file but I would not worry about it too much. Unfortunatly I cannot suggest much more than booting into safemode and trying to delete the file again. Alternativly there could be a command line switch which disables CRC while performing the delete operation. __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by bigtimecow japan MetalMilitia View Public Profile Send a private message to MetalMilitia Find all posts by MetalMilitia #3 soundtest TERRIBLE BEAT Join Date: Apr 2001 Location: SHANGHAI Nov 6th, 2006, 09:04 PM Do you get this error just in Explorer or if you try to delete it from the command line too? soundtest View Public Profile Send a private message to soundtest Visit soundtest's homepage! I can't view the picture anymore either, not that that's important since i was trying to delete it along with a bunch of other pics. Still, I can't remove this temporary directory until I'm able to delete that pic. __________________ Talent, vigor, drive... You'll eat peanut butter the re
