I'm now on second computer that running very well, and here is my external hard disk that is "not initialized" and "unallocated".. that says in Disk Management, MyComputer. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/294291-32-cannot-initialize-disk-cyclic-redundancy-check So, when i press 'Yes' to go to initialize hdd i got message: Cyclic redundancy check error. I tryed to recover partitions with more than 4 softwares and results was good, my partitions is on exellent status! But, some softwares told me that my hdd must have MBR volume to recover partitions.. I have files, important files that i must get back like http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/im-having-big-problem-with-my-hdd photos and docs.. Here are screenshots of problems.. Hi kindle, Did you try with the free version of this ? http://www.partitionwizard.com.....nager.html Reports: · Posted 3 years ago Top kindle Posts: 4 This post has been reported. Thanks for reply Lighthouse I tryed that MiniTool software, and i got pretty good results! First, quick scanned succesfully for lost partitions and than it shows me what it found (2 partitions) and thats great!! But, when i succesfully finished and apply at the end, nothing happens! : ( And, i saw that 2 partitions are on "Lost/Deleted" Status. Maybe i must fix Master Boot Record on my hdd.. ? I tryed in command prompt to fix that and it succesfully fixed! But, maybe is there other way to do that. I'm convinced that something like "volume" is needed to my hdd. I dont know what is it actually.. Reports: · Posted 3 years ago Top germ-x Posts: 5310 This post has been reported. If you haven't writ

A cyclic redundancy check error can be caused by several different issues: registry corruption, a cluttered hard disk, an unsuccessful program installation, or misconfigured files. Regardless of the specific cause, the cyclic redundancy check error is a serious one and must be addressed to avoid potential data loss or cyclic redundancy even a total system failure system. Luckily, there are a few simple ways to address this problem using (free) disk utility software.[1] Steps Method 1 Running the CHKDSK Utility 1 Access the CHKDSK utility. CHKDSK (or "check disk") is a built-in Windows utility that will scan and repair your drive's errors. It has the ability to find and repair a number of small errors or file corruptions that may be causing the cyclic redundancy cyclic redundancy check error. Right click the drive you want to check, then click Properties->Tools. Under “Error Checking” click “Check Now”. If a CD or DVD disc is giving you this error it may be the result of a scratch or some dust. Try cleaning the disk with a soft cloth before anything else. Optical disk errors are often not repairable. If you get this error on a Mac (less common), first try the built-in Disk Utility and “Repair” the disk. 2 Decide on a basic versus an advanced scan. Check boxes to indicate if you’d like to do a basic check and repair or an advanced one - the default is the basic scan. The basic scan should take around 15-20 minutes while the advanced scan may take hours. Make sure you’ve got the time set aside and don't disturb the computer once it begins. 3 Reboot the computer to begin the scan. If scanning the main drive on your computer (the one you’re booted up on), CHKDSK will not be able to run immediately and will instead schedule the scan for the next time you reboot the computer. You can continue use the computer as normal at this point - restart when you know you have time for the full scan. If you suspect your hard disk is nearing the end of i
account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I had a drive controller board go bad, so I ordered one from ebay that matched the model/series to try and get it working again. I've done this is the past with no problems, but this time the drive shows up as 134217728.00 GBs. It's been years since I've fixed that type of issue and can't for the life of me remember what utility I used to fix the software and settings of the controller board. Anyone ever run into this and know what software I'm forgetting about? All I remember is it was a command line util I used. Can't remember if it was Linux or windows based though. Edited Aug 27, 2014 at 8:09 UTC 0 Tabasco OP RumRaisin Aug 27, 2014 at 8:14 UTC TestDisk? But if I got it right, I think you may also need to transfer the ROM from the original hard drive PCB to the donor board that you bought from Ebay. 0 Jalapeno OP BriMat Aug 28, 2014 at 12:33 UTC Frozwire wrote: I don't know if I understand you're problem correctly about the drive controller that you mean.
