I had the same error with a single file, and it wouldn't copy using any CD/DVD drive on any of three different systems I tried.I think you need to recreate the .iso file. I did it at max speed (32X on the LiteOn) and I've read here that sometimes a fast burn can lead to invalid files. So either the original file is corrupted, or the burning process did not work correctly, or the optical drive is not able to read the media completely. What do cyclic redundancy check you mean by "open" the iso? You don't open an iso, you just burn the iso to a disk. If the disk opens OK on the original machine, you either have not finalized the disk (which also means that you didn't burn it correctly since iso's do not usually need finalizing), or the burn failed in some other way, such as a buffer overflow. What burning program are you using? Are you burning as an image (When you explore the DVD, do you see an iso file)? Free ISO burning apps: Standalone ISO Burner (Be sure to check the "Finalize" box.) Code: Error Copying File or Folder Cannot copy filename: Data error (cyclic redundancy check). Google tells me this is a corrupt file, damaged media or hardware fault. I have tried the disc in another drive to receive the error again on the same file. I am assuming this is a corrupt file that's my problem. Google recommended I use a tool to recover the file; the program it recommended was http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/cd-recovery.html which is free for personal use. I've not used any file recovery software extensively before, does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance! But most likely you have lost the data. Also have you got a disc to clean your drive ? Short of that you can try the software approach but I haven't had much luck with it. The one I tend to use to recover data from a disc is iso buster : http://www.isobuster.com/ Send PM 8th January 2008,09:10 AM #4 Geoff Join Dat
