Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check When Installing A Game
Hi There: When installing, I get the following error when the second cd reaches c:\...\Sid Meier's Civilization 4.msi FEATURE TRANSFER ERROR Feature: C++ Runtime Libraries 7.1 Component: File: Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check). __ My data error cyclic redundancy check external hard drive seagate basic specs: HP Pavillion a562n Pentium 4 w/ 300 GHz 512 MB RAM NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 AGP 8x graphics card w/ 128MB memory DirectX 9.0c installed fine... Any suggestions on what this problem is would be greatly appreciated as I am very eager to get started. I have searched for similar errors and have found none related to Civ 4... If it still gives you the same error, you can try copying and pasting the whole thing to your harddrive and running it from there. I tried what you suggested and got the same error when using a different drive. Couldn't even copy it to my hard drive -- got the same error (different dialog box, though). Lastly, tried installing it on another computer and got the same error. DANG IT ALL! Back to Best Buy I go... Thanks for your help! Just find the folder location and save the file(s) to a safe place.
