But today:After few tables with indexes has been opened, when open next table and after that its indexes (set index to indexname), program crashes with message: DBFNTX/1010 Read error.According to NG it could be a network connection error, so I have run the application and all data on my computer localy.And same happened.After that I have run the application in debug mode - the error was the same, but when I did it step by step with little pause between steps the operation passed. Also, if the pauses between step were shorter the application crashed sometimes on the same point, sometimes few program lines after but in the same operation of opening indexes on other table.NOTE: the same happened with the applications of my colleagues which operate on the same data. Then, in the procedure, close the alias, use permenent table with same alias, set index back to the index made for the temporary table - BOOM!This can be difficult to trace... - hope it helps for you? If the error occurs in the DBF/index of the destination then try http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=299366 adding a line like this will allow the garbage collector to kick in and clean up some memory. Another alternative is to close the destination DBF between appending. OK seems like my parents have a serious problem. Here is the info from what I could get out of them. My father's office has 3 computers networked to each other. The one that my mom works on has a DOS program where she does all the record keeping. Sh told me that recently when she starts the computer it gives her the error message: DBF NTX dbfntx/1010 dos error 1010 Read error quit. I've looked all over the net trying to find a good diagnosis but I've come up with several potential problems from bad controllers to network configuration. Can anybody lend a hand? This is pretty serious for my parents since they live abroad and computer parts are expensive there. Is there anyone who could recommend a good diagnosis procedure for this problem? If you need any additional info don't hesistate to ask. As for the computer I know it was built by someone for them and knowing the way they operate they probably used unreliable parts through and through.
