The UAP info are:Model: UAP-ProVersion: 2.3.6.1595The UNIFI controller is running on Ubuntu Linux 11.04, the package installated is unifi-beta version 2.3.6-1788I'm in a layer3 network, so the UAP and che controller are in different network, but che controller can ping and reach every TCP/UDP ports on UNIFI controller. When I issue the set-inform command, I get the following error:Status: Decrypt Error (IP_OF_CONTROLLER:8080/inform)Please note: the user/password on UAP are the same on controller.I have installed the controller on a Windows XP Pro system, same versione 2.3.6, and the "inform" works well and I can manage the UAP.Any info will be very appreciated.Thanks.Piero Baudino 1 of 8 Reply 0 Kudos webtron Member Posts: 213 Registered: 01-20-2012 Posts: 213 Kudos: 32 Solutions: 2 Registered: 01-20-2012 Re: UAP-PRO 2.3.6 - set-inform Decrypt Error Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report Inappropriate Content 10-12-2012 07:10 AM Are you issuing the inform command from the router or the controller? What I need is an exact list of specific unknown problems we might encounter. 2 of 8 Reply 0 Kudos baudinpr New Member Posts: 4 Registered: 10-12-2012 Posts: 4 Registered: 10-12-2012 Re: UAP-PRO 2.3.6 - set-inform

I have AWS controler (version 3.1.10) and recently i made new AWS controler (version 4.8.14) for testing purposes.Every UAP i adopted with controler was done using ssh; issuing first factory resetsyswrapper.sh restore-defaultthen set-informset-inform http://ip-of-controller:8080/informand then adopt it on controler. This process took me around 2 minutesand it was bullet proof.Yesterday i tryied to adopt UAC Lite to controler with version 3.1.10 and received Decrypt error.I tried to adopt it to controller with version 4.8.14 and received System Rejected. I thought there is some mismatch in versions of controler and firmware so i updated firmware via ssh, from controler:upgrade http://ip-of-controller:8080/dl/firmware/BZ2/version-of-ap-see-ref-table-below/firmware.binUpgrade went smoothly which puzzles me even more now as clearly UAC and controller can communicate. After upgrade i tryied adoption with both controlers, and result was same; controler with version 3.1.10 responded Dcrypt error and controler withv ersion 4.8.

See Layer 3 Wiki.It might not be a big deal for AP's with Wire Uplink, connected to the router, but this is very troublesome with AP's utilising a Wireless Uplink. When you reset your APs to factory default, the wireless uplink will be broken and the only way to readopt the AP is by connecting it through wire to the router. This is very troublesome for APs in unreachable area such as very high ceiling, etc. What I found out is, by SSH-ing the AP, we actually CAN set-inform each APs without resetting it to factory default. Here's how:1. It's advisable that you SSH your Island AP first. Type:ssh
