Is this a specific code or do I need to shell out for a new battery? Thanks Like 0 Reply You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. Posted by BigBrother on 21 May 2006 15:07 ramkishore,I am not sure that JP0933 means that the the lights on the battery itself are 4 red and one green, but perhaps the battery light (charging LED) on the system blinks 4 red and one green. Perhaps JP0933 could provide some clarification on this?Steve Like 0 Reply You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. Posted by ramkishore on 21 May 2006 15:43 Steve.. JP0933.. is called a PPID number that we use to recognize the make/part number of the battery etc, refer https://www.dellbatteryprogram.com/ on that, usually if the charge led's on the battery blinks..it indicates a possible battery failure but what u may wanna try is to first lookup the ststus of the Battery in the BIOS.. Remove Battery first,Power on Laptop with just the AC AdapterF2 at the Dell Logo,Go to Page 5 of 7 (ALT+P) to scroll btw pagesPrimary Battery Ststus will show as NOT INSTALLED now,Install the Battery and check to see if it recognizes it.. If Nogo, u need a new Battery for sure.. Kishore Like 0 Reply You have

The dash lights do come on but they stop with the Caps Lock and Num Lock lights blinking fast. This can't be good but I can't find anywhere (including the Dell site) that says definitively what this means. Taking out the RAM and/or HDD has no impact on the sequence, so this must be the system board but it would be nice to have an authoritative reference. Does anyone know or have a link to what these blink codes mean? #1 shamrin, Oct 31, 2010 B Trevathan Expand Collapse Member Likes Received: 17 Location: Tennessee, USA Have you tried booting without the battery in and just from the power adapter?
