Look through the DHCP leases and resevation and make sure there aren't any duplicates. Have you assigned any static IP address through the NIC in a machine or are they all done through reservations? If you have done it through the NIC, make sure that you are doubling up and putting a reservation for that same IP address for anther machine. 0 Poblano OP Christopher Tagliaferro Jul 19, 2010 at 10:47 UTC CraigMicrosoft Tech Companion App Microsoft Technical Communities Microsoft Virtual Academy Script Center Server and

Solved Unable to add DHCP Reservation Posted on 2007-07-16 MS Server OS Windows Server 2003 DHCP 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 6,207 Views Last Modified: 2010-01-12 We are Running 2003 Server (ST) and running DHCP off this server with DHCP scope for the network 192.168.x.x. We assigned one of our laptops an ip via DHCP and for some reason it was unable to connect to the network. It is connecting via a wireless router within the network. We removed the reservation from DHCP and are moving our wireless devices to a different range in the scope and when we go to add the reservation for this laptop it gives us the following error.. "The Specified Address is not available" We looked in the leases and did not find it in there and we also ran through the reservations looking to see if the mac address or ip were being used anywhere and they are not. So we tried an alternet IP address way out of the range of anything else and still same error. It seems to me that it is cached somewhere. What should we do?? 0 Question by:creativeSD Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 70 Best Solution byKCTS Make sure that there is not a client with the same static address on the network.
