vote Am trying to upgrade my Workstations from Windows XP to Windows 7. I have installed a MDT server in the network and Iam able to https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Deployment-and/PXE-E51-quot-No-DHCP-or-DHCP-Proxy-Offers-received-quot-error/td-p/3057862 deploy OS successfully. But Ihave anissue in booting particular model of Workstation"HP z220". There I get this Error "PXE-E51: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received". I was checking in internet for similar issues, I could understand that, thisis because of issue in either DHCP server or Switch/router to which I have https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fa01119f-b9b4-41d9-a5d1-dce46bf75500/pxee51-no-dhcp-or-proxydhcp-offers-were-received?forum=configmanagerosd my workstation connected. But here, I am able to BOOT my other workstations from the same port where HP z220 is failing. Adding to it, Since the workstation is already running with Windows XP, I logged into that and I could see that I picks the IP address from the DHCP server automatically. If the other computer can boot, the problem should be the compute itself. Juke Chou TechNet Community Support

After a while, the following error message is displayed: PXE-E51: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received Depending on the PXE client's system setup boot device list configuration, the dhcp error PC then either stops or tries to boot from the next boot device in the system setup boot device list. CAUSE The "PXE-E51" error indicates that the PXE client did not receive a reply to its DHCPDISCOVER message. Possible causes for error 51 dhcp this problem are: 1. There is no DHCP or BOOT server 2. The DHCP or BOOTP server is not running 3. The DHCP or BOOTP server is not configured to service your PXE client 4. The DHCP or BOOTP server is located in a different subnet, and no DHCP or BOOTP forwarding mechanisms are in effect RESOLUTION Make sure that a DHCP or BOOTP server is setup and running, and that it is configured to service the client. If the DHCP or BOOTP server is located in a different subnet (i.e. PXE client and DHCP or BOOTP server are separated by one or more routers), you must provide a DHCP or BOOTP forwarding mechanism.
