If you have an alternate source to connect online with, like a hotspot, I would try that just to see if it works. If it does then there is something wrong with your internet connection. I figure the cause might be that I was idle for a few hours, but I'm not so sure. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Solutions? Thanks in diablo 2 advance -Ellis Ellis_D._Trails, Jul 3, 2004 #1 ghoppa12 Banned Joined: Mar 10, 2004 Messages: 30 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 0 yes its happened to me before too. When you connect to Battle.net, it will check the version of the game you have installed and patch the game to the latest version if necessary. If Battle.net cannot determine the version of the game you are running, then it will not allow you on. Only the latest game version will be able to join Battle.net. First, just to rule out any type of connection problem and to make sure you are not getting a false error message, please try to join Battle.net a few times in a row. Also, make sure you are using the original game CD in your CD-ROM drive. Any programs or patches that allow the game to run without the CD in the CD-ROM drive are not supported and may cause this error. In addition to third-party programs causing this problem, a virus may alter the game data and prevent you from joining Battle.net. Quoted from Blizzard-Support-DiabloII issues. Is this a legit copy of Diablo 2: LoD? 2. Uninstall it, reboot, and reinstall it. 3. Download the patch from: http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mdt0387p 4. Install the patch. 5. Try again. If you don't feel like doing steps 3 and 4, then just reinstall it, and connect to battle.net and let it install the patch for you. wakko, Jul 2, 2003 #2 NoNameRequired Administrator and Blizzard Tech FAQ Editor If you still receive that error after following wakko's steps, scan your computer for viruses. I suggest Housecall, a free online scanner. NoNameRequired, Jul 2, 2003 #3 Ultima_ice Guest sup Ultima_ice, Jan 13, 2004 #4 Unregistered Guest Originally posted by wakko 1.
