I did a clean install of XP Pro and can not seem to get the game to install. When I put the installation disk in my Creative 50X CDROM or my Plextor 24X CD-RW nothing happens. If I go to windows explorer and click on the CD drive where the installation disk resides, nothing happens. No files or folders appear. It seems that the diablo 2 install disk is not being recognized. I have loaded other games, apps and played audio CDs on these CD drives fine. This only happens with Diablo 2 in XP for me. The game worked fine in my old Win2K setup. I deleted the drives through device manager and reinstalled the drivers to no avail. I have also upgraded the firmware to the Plextor drive. I am having no luck getting this one game to install on XP. Any ideas?
