Unrecoverable Internal Error Diablo 2
on the Areat Summit when trying to kill the three guys on NIghtmare level. Running completely unmodded, fully uptodate versions of D2. This has happened before (about the same place in Normal IIRC) but only the once, nothing like this. Any suggestions apart from the usual reinstall, please? First though, you could check to see what your video settings are. Have you tried running the game on DirectDraw mode? Do you have sound and music on? Something else you might want to try is deleting the bncache.dat file, in your Diablo 2 installation directory (it'll be re-created again when you log back onto battle.net). This wouldn't explain why you're getting the error in single player though, but it's worth a shot. Same story as everyone else, but I am playing single player, and I only get this crash with one character (a low-level assasin). No mods, no hacks, no network, and this doesn't happen with any other characters. Any suggestions? It's Cloak of Shadows causing the problem I think. Don't use it. (I'm also

Try creating a new character and see if the error occurs there. Is this a single player character http://us.battle.net/en/forum/topic/13019942307 or a character on Battle.net? If this is affecting only a single character then it's likely that character data has become corrupt. Since this is in single player, there's no way to recover the data.Data corruption will occur. It's not something we can prevent completely. We do recommend that you make backups of your DiabloII \ Saves folder periodically to help recover from these kinds of issues.______________________________Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm Pacific TimeRate me! What I gather is there is a permission problem for the game to access some files. Right Click on your Diablo II folder, go to Properties, at the Security tab, click a user name, then on the Permissions box tick Allow for Full Control. Do this for all User Name -- since I don't know which user name is having permission problems -- or you can try each user name one by one and run the game. hope it helps!
