Report RSS D2MultiRes Diablo 2 in a higher resolution? Yes its true, and yes it rocks! Posted by Henley on Jul 26th, 2009 I really do love me some Diablo 2, so much so 2-3 times a year I'll do a massive co-op runs with my mates, and have done so ever since its release. The problem is the game is old, and my pc is well... new.
Diablo 2 1.13 Resolution
Because of our humanly ways to keep making advancements in the field of computing its getting quite difficult to come back to a game who's highest resolution is 800x600. As that size be tiny yo. Thanks to the talented skills of a modder who goes by the name Sluggy you can now play Diablo 2 in any resolution that your pc can support! This is great news as no longer will my mouse slip out of the small window and open flash, no longer will my spells refuse to cast as I accidentally click my desktop instead! Finally. It comes at a cost though as you will not be able to participate in any Battle.net multiplayer stuff which is a shame I guess but in my opinion Diablo 2 is much better with close friends at a lan hyped up on coke (the drink you fools). Diablo 2 showing off its stuff in 1280x1024. Mod_Author wrote: This unofficial "patch" allows you to play Diablo II in resolutions other than 640x480 and 800x600. It is, for the most part, completed, but there are still a few issues that have not been worked out. The "patch" lets you select any resolution 640x480 or higher that is supported by your

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package
Something new. ERROR: Unable to load D2multiRes.dll. Exiting Diablo II...The thing is it forked few diablo 2 1.13 widescreen days before. I`m stuck on point 14. in this guide where i should put my resolution- 1366x768. I don`t have that multi res multires diablo 2 option. Just usual diablo 2. So i`m thinking i went wrong on point 10) 10) Open PlugY.ini and put "dlltoload=D2MultiRes.dll" (please note that I also did this for PlugYDefault.ini which is inside the PlugY folder in the DII http://www.moddb.com/groups/editors/news/d2multires dir)CODE: SELECT CONTENT[GENERAL]ActivePlugin=1DisableBattleNet=1ActiveLogFile=0DllToLoad=D2multires.dllDllToLoad2=mmap.dllActiveCommands=1ActiveCheckMemory=1ActiveAllOthersFeatures=0Where do exactly i have to put those values? In Plugy folder it looks pretty similar, but the plugy.ini in D2 folder looks very different. Maybe you could copy the full ini (both) files? And do i have to remove the line "DllToLoad2=mmap.dll"?I`m stuck here for 3 or 4 days. And at the beginning i got that C00005 error, but now i`m at that error mentioned before and few times i got something like line http://www.medianxl.com/t1716p50-guide-to-multi-res-w-plugy-for-diablo-ii #1226(may be not that number exactly) could not load. So i`m a bit frustrated here. After playing one week with multi res, my eyes can`t get back to 800x600 wizinjshHemoplaguePosts : 129Country : Re: Guide to Multi-Res w/PlugY for Diablo IIbyRexxar on Tue Feb 04, 2014 1:53 am@wizinjshHm...I never used that guide on the first page.I would do it this way:Install Diablo II...bla bla bla...Apply 1.12a patch - download zipped version of PlugY and extract it inside the Diablo II game folder - RUN PatchD2gfxDll.exe - and then you should start the game with D2MultiResGame.exe, and that is it as I remember. But on my side only resolution that worked fine was 1024x768 I think, but still good enough of course................CheersRexxarCow Ninja Lord of NonsensePosts : 1682Country : Re: Guide to Multi-Res w/PlugY for Diablo IIbytaem on Tue Feb 04, 2014 2:03 amOhhhh.. hahahaha. A misprint on my part... On #14, you start with plugY in Full Screen and set your resolution, then exit and add -w to the shortcut parameters. Hehe, wow. So long as you have dlltoload=d2multires, it will work fine. Sorry I wasn't more clear on line 14, but I can see how it's confusing if following the guide step-by-step. The multires has been mentioned before though and you can probably play with it, but only on SP and not able to trade with other people from here on SP. Playing with it on Bnet is plain risky imo.
