Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this with WinXP32 sp3: DirectX Encountered an Unrecoverable Error, It doesn't seem to be related to any missing .dll file. I've tried different Nvidia drivers, Creative Lab drivers and the most recent DirectX 9.0c update. Same problem keeps coming up. I can complete the very first mission in solo but when you click to start the next map the screen goes black and have to Alt+Tab to get out of it. I can only load the Cliff map in Multiplayer while all others crash the game as above. Yes the Patch is installed. Reading around the net there seems to be a lot of users experiencing this and various other issues with the game. In the meantime I have a $50 game that can't be played. COD4 runs perfectly. Thanks for any help. And too when the game does run it preforms very well on my setup with max settings of 2xAA at 1680x1050. I downloaded the COMPLETE Nov DX8 Redistributable (different and much larger than the web update that's commonly being referred to in these threads) and it did solve the problem. Easy to find the file via Goggle, give it a try. dabrooks View Public Profile Find all posts by dabrooks (#3) Cybermancer Don Quixote Videocard: BFG GTX260OC (192 SP) Processor: Intel E8400 @ 3.6 GHz Mainboard: XFX 680i LT Memory: 6 GB Corsair DDR2 PC6400 Soundcard: X-Fi PSU: PC Power & Cooling 750W 11-14-2008, 00:21 | posts: 13,823 | Location: Cyberspace DirectX 9.0c (Nov 08): http://filehippo.com/download_direct...f22aca64b8e67/ Cybermancer View Public Profile Find all posts by Cybermancer (#4) sava700 Ancient Guru Videocard: eVGA 570GTX SC Processor: Intel i7 6700K 4.0 (4.8) Mainboard: GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 Memory: 16GSkill RipJaw DDR4-3600
