Tried editing directx error the ini and the game still sets all sound to 0. See this problem a lot in forums with linux users but the fix for linux obviously doesn't translate to windows. MJ Share this post Link to post Share on other sites JanH 2155 The not-so-new guy 2155 1860 posts Posted April 4 If you are playing on Steam, it is likely that your directx error problem client isn't syncing your profile/settings files onto Steam Cloud properly. This is most likely due to changed security/administrator settings when you moved to Windows 10. One thing you can do is to ensure that you have the proper administrator account set up on your Windows log-in for your computer. Then, once you are sure that this is set up properly, right-click on Don’t Starve in your Steam Folders (for example: C:\Steam\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\dont_starve\bin\dontstarve_steam.exe) and choose “Run as Administrator”. From there, change your audio settings to your preferred volume. If that still does not save your audio settings, please ensure that you are running Steam as an Administrator – in case that is needed for the Steam client to save your settings to the Steam Cloud.
