I have tried every speed. I got it to burn once without the include text and use sound check, but the resulting burn was of such poor quality that you could not bear to listen to it. I tried MP3 but get the error that they won't burn because they are not MP3 to begin with. I just want to get the stuff I purchase from Itunes into a format that I can burn to a CD or transfer to my non-itunes mp3 player. This is probably already in this forum, but I can't find this particular error. Here is my system information: Dimension 4100, Windows 2000, Sony CRX160e CD-RW, itunes 4.2. When I attempt to burn CD, itunes "initializes" the songs, spins the CD a few times than exits with an error message: attempt disc burn to burn cd failed. unknown write error (4000). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Someone suggested Dell installs the sony CD drive as a SCSI drive, when in fact the drive is an IDE drive. This seems to be true, though I'm not sure how to reinstall the CD as an IDE drive or if this will help. Any suggestions are much appreciated. I've made similar posts on itunes! I read a number of the Google hits on this issue but I could not find a true solution. When itunes saves the music, what format are they in mpg3 or 4? Have you copied them to another folder, then tried another burning software, Nero, Roxio, MusicMatch, etc.. to burn a CD? You are correct, this does seem to be a problem, dating back to versio 4.0, version 4.1 was suppose to address issue but looks as though it did not.Besty RegardsGod, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell thedifference.CD/RW Link Jeff "Live Free -- Die Hard" John`s ToolBox CD/DVD Link MS Upper & Lower Filter Fix Forum Member since March 1998 Like 0 Reply You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
