This has only been getting worse.I read the guide provided on disc read error this website but it refers to older version of the PS2.The SCPH-50001 has two white gears used to adjust the height of the laser, which, presumably is the key to fixing this problem. It appears I need to buy a tool to turn these gears. Also, I don't know in what direction to turn each on and how much.Additionally, I found some white substance on the right rod below one of the white gears. I did not see the purpose of this and considering there was none present on the opposite rod, I wiped it off.Does anyone have any advice for me or referals to a newer "fixing" guide?Thank you. rajaslade Ars Centurion Registered: Jun 8, 2004Posts: 362 Posted: Mon Nov 08, 2004 3:55 am Ugh.
