Can you mount the ISO to another server or your local machine to check that its intact? What's your ilo network conectivity like? If it's mounted over a slow connection then you may get that kind of issue. Thanks Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 2. Different boot loaders use different config files http://www.ajopaul.com/2014/10/21/linux-usb-boot-disk-error-failed-to-load-com32-file-menu-c32/ for the boot parameters: For Clonezilla live booting from CD on a MBR machine, isolinux is the boot loader. Therefore the config file is /syslinux/isolinux.cfg. For Clonezilla live booting from USB disk error flash drive on a MBR machine, syslinux is the boot loader. Therefore the config file is /syslinux/syslinux.cfg. For Clonezilla live booting from PXE on a MBR machine, pxelinux is the boot loader. The config file is on the PXE server, and is configured by the system administrator. it could be something like /tftpboot/nbi_img/pxelinux.cfg/default, or different file. For Clonezilla live booting from isolinux disk error a uEFI machine, grub2 is used. Therefore the config file is /EFI/boot/grub.cfg. We now describe the kernel boot parameters related to Clonezilla live. If you want to modify the boot parameters, make sure you edit the right config file. Clonezilla live is based on Debian live with clonezilla installed. Therefore there are 2 kinds of boot parameters: Boot parameters from Debian live-boot and live-config. You can refer to the manual of live-boot and manual of live-config.. Boot parameters specially for Clonezilla. All of them are named as "ocs_*", e.g. ocs_live_run, ocs_live_extra_param, ocs_live_batch. ocs_live_run is intended for saving/restoring an image or cloning disk/partition. It is the main program to be run in Clonezilla live. Available program: ocs-live-general, ocs-live-restore or any command you write. e.g. ocs_live_run="ocs-live-general" //NOTE// You might have to use "sudo" command inside your own script, or you can assign it like: ocs_live_run="sudo bash /my-clonezilla" ocs_live_extra_param will be used only when ocs_live_run=ocs-live-restore (not for ocs-live-general or any other), then it will be passed to ocs-sr. Therefore these parameters are actually those of ocs-sr. e.g. ocs_live_extra_param="--batch -c restoredisk sarge-r5 hda" To preset the ke
disk error: Failed to load COM32 file menu.c32 42 21 Oct 2014 | linux Tags: linux · unetbootin · usb boot I tried to burn a Linux ISO to a bootable USB disk, and while booting the disk, it failed with the below error message: Failed to load COM32 file menu.c32 boot: Apparently this is due to a recent change in syslinux library modules. Not sure if its a bug Unetbootin can fix or any other package related bug. But the solution is simple. copy the below files from /usr/lib/syslinux/bios/ to the root of USB drive and then boot with the USB device. 1. libcom32.c32 2. menu.c32 3. libutil.c32 user@computer:$ cd /usr/lib/syslinux/bios/ user@computer:$ cp libcom32.c32 menu.c32 libutil.c32 rootofusbdrive Update: If the above files were not enough and if you are getting the below message as Taipan in comments observed, Failed to load COM32 file vesamenu.c32 copy /usr/lib/syslinux/vesamenu.c32 as well to the root of USB device and try again. Hope this works. Source of the above solution is here. Update1: 13-Feb-2015 Commenter Fabien has noted his location of the above files was as shown below /usr/lib/syslinux/modules/bios/ Please like & share: 42 thoughts on “Linux USB boot disk error: Failed to load COM32 file menu.c32” Reply leo Oct 25,2014 6:26 pm This worked for me too. I have discovered that the problem may be due to us using an old version of UNetbootin. I use Ubuntu & the version of UNetbootin supplied by its repositories is version 603. When I use this I get the same problem as you. By going to http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ you can download version 608 which is the latest version, having been released
