It's owned by a teenager so the chances of it having been maintained are probably next to zero.Recently it stopped booting and returns the error: Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete. That 'hour' has extended to about 12 and still no sign of a repair. Something I read somewhere suggested this error relates to bad sectors on the disk.I have legit Win 8 discs but these are not recognised so I'm assuming this is because it doesn't know to look in the disc drive. It proceeds with the error and will not even load in safe mode. We don't have a win 8 recovery disc either and since we're all students, no money to afford someone to look at it. So we are hoping to find some type of fix we can do ourselves. The only other operating system we have is now Win 10 on another laptop.I would be really grateful if anyone could help as the owner of the laptop needs it for study. Technical expertise is not high so I would need instructions in nice plain English please!Thank you kindly in advance,Alicia Drea likes this Quote Share this post Li
