If I try, I get the error " a disk error occured during a write operation". Its weird because this has happened to me about 3 times TO THE SAME MP3 file. all the attributes are gone. in Windows Media Player 11, if I go to the advanced tag editor, everything is there and can be edited. Also when playing the effected mp3, the visualization in WMP11 is slow and choppy, and its only like that when playing that specific mp3 file. One more thing Ive noticed is when playing that certain mp3, I get an FF audio decoder icon in the system tray (that

I'm using a 1.5 TB hard drive with AHCI. I get the following strange error if I right-click any mp3 file (of any bit depth) to edit its ID3 properties: "a disk error occurred during a write operation" I can reproduce the error on any mp3 file on two identical hard drives (both new Seagate 1.5 TB hard drives), as well as an older Samsung 200 GB SATA drive. The Samsung drive had never demonstrated this problem in previous windows installs. Furthermore, the same files appear fine if I copy them to a different machine. (e.g,. 32-bit Win XP Pro). Also, I've run full scans on the disks with no errors found. No S.M.A.R.T. errors. And reproduced on 3 independent drives, both on MP3 files made recently by WMP 11, and on older MP3 files imported from elsewhere. It appears to be an issue with the way windows explorer displays the ID3 information, since I can still see the tags in other software. But I'm stumped on the exact nature of it. Any ideas or experience on it? My heatware (macklin01) Need image I/O for your science apps?
