Another series of disk checks from the CD didn't come up with anything. After rebooting to Windows, the disk was just fine.Any idea what might be causing something like this? The disk is less than a year old and I doubt XP can find errors with it that Western Digital cannot. Thanks in advance for any hints. norton_I Ars Praefectus Registered: Apr 30, 2001Posts: 3785 Posted: Tue Dec 18, 2007 4:02 am Paging may also mean demand loading of executables or dlls.chkdsk normally only checks filesystem layout, but I would expect the WD utilities to notice any genuine error. Did you run a complete surface scan with at least one of those utilities?Checked SMART st

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR3. I have ( C: ) two SSD drives in RAID configuration, one ( D: ) internal HDD, and one ( F: ) external HDD. Which one does the \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 refer to or is it referring to something else? Is this referring to a bad driver, controller, or HDD? Thanks... EDIT: could this be in reference to the floppy ( A: ) drive that the system sees but that doesn't exist? Most likely, the internal drive is 2 and the external drive is 3. It might have something to do with the floppy drive not being there, maybe. Doubtful but maybe. Why don't you turn the floppy drive seek off in the BIOS if you don't have one? Share Gandalf 29 December 2009 17:43:46 I've adjusted the BIOS as you suggested and so far so good. Let's give it a few days to see if it rears its ugly head again. m 0 l Can't find your answer ? Ask !
