Previously, I could get the CD to boot (although other errors at various stages during the installation process prevented me from completing the installation each time I tried). The only thing that has changed is that I ran some diagnostics on the computer (RAM and HD passed) with Ultimate Boot CD, as well as wiped the internal HD. I'd like to try pretty much anything you guys can think of before re-burning these CDs. Also, the fedoraproject.org says that ISOs downloaded as torrents come already verified. This is how I obtained my CD images, so that's another reason I'm leery of re-burning. tempusfugitive View Public Profile Find all posts by tempusfugitive #2 2nd November 2009, 02:40 PM Nokia Offline Registered User Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: /dev/realm/{Abba,Carpenters,...stage} Posts: 3,285 I doubt it's a cd/dvd error...seems like HDD related. Try booting from a USB stick. Use UNetbootin to install Fedora on it, either from Windows or Linux. __________________ For safer browsing, use OpenDNS nameservers 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 SELinux User Guide AutoPager Nokia View Public Profile Find all posts by Nokia #3 2nd November 2009, 03:22 PM stoat Offline R

Knoppix 4 seems to try and boot, Says "Loading Linux...." but after a while I get: "Isolinux: Disk error 10, AX=4280, drive EF Boot Failed: Press a key to retry" I've tried booting with a number of different commands: failsafe, debug, expert, a few others, but always get the same message. Drives isolinux disk error E and F are my CD burner and DVD drives respectively, if that means anything. Also it took me 3 trys to make the CD, the first two times failed when using CD-R media, the one that worked was using CD-RW media. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem. It very likely does, but not because CD-RW is better than CDR, rather because using a CD-RW forced you to burn at a slow speed. If
