is too long, everything I read says to give as much information about your system as you can): Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 (rev. 1.0) http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products...ard&ProductID=2460&ProductName=GA-N680SLI-DQ6 partition manager boot disk Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0 ghz Processor Chip 2x 2 GB OCZ SLI-Ready PC6400-DDR2 Ram Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit (sp2) on 74gb Raptor HD in SATA slot 0 Additional 1.5 TB Seagate HD installed in SATA slot 1 free partition boot disk - containing Drives D:, F:, G:, whereas Drive D is my programs drive, all progs are installed to that drive (approx 200gb allocated), F: is for multimedia storage (mp3s, videos, etc.) (approx 300gb allocated) and G: is heavy storage (approx 800 gb allocated) and is the drive that I had listed as "Storage Vault" and now shows up as "local drive". The cpu is cooled with a thermaltake fan, not stock fan. I use System Mechanic Professional for TuneUp/PC Maintenance, AVAST AntiVirus, Spyware Blaster, and Spybot S&D 1.6 with Teatimer Active. I use Three Monitors on my computer, one Monitor on the GTX 280, and two on the 8800GT as I multi-app a lot. This system has NEVER been overclocked in any fashion, despite my initial research that the E6850 chip could be OC'd to almost 4Ghz with the stock cooler with no problems - I'm just a major Noob when it comes to overclocking and so I never sussed with it. The problem is that Drive G: just began showing up as "Local Drive G:" and every attempt to access it results in an "I/0 Device Error". Drive G: as mentioned above is a partition on the 1.5 TB Seagate HD. When I run drive utilities through System Mech Pro,

Hello everyone, I'm new on Ubuntu forums.. and I have a problem with my HDD Toshiba Hitachi HDS5C3020BLE630 2.0 https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2216914 TB.. I recently bought it with a damaged IcyBox where it came from, and I attempted to boot it but it's not working.. I tried many ways to revive it, I was using Paragon, Partition magic, GParted, disk utility and terminal and no changes made.. When I start HDD it's not shown on disk utility, once the hard disk activity reaches zero, it's displayed on disk utility, but after doing an operation or doing a format drive option and similar, it disappears like it haven't been there.. Then after an hour or so the disk is dsiplayed again and it's activity is zero... Here is the output on terminal: Code: pinguy@pinguy:~$ sudo fdisk /dev/sde fdisk: unable to open /dev/sde: No such file or directory After I did the fdisk it disappeared.. I don't know what to do so I would like you to help me with this problem because I don't like buying hard disk if there is a option to repair this one.. Thanks.. P.S. I'm using Pinguy since it's distro is made on ubuntu so yeah.. it's similar.. I hope there is no problem with that.. Sincerely, EliteM3 Last edited by EliteM3; April 14th, 2014 at 10:41 PM. But now I have another problem, and that is: In partition wizard I try to shrink c and extend d at the same time and it does this after restarting with partition wizard bootloader until 19 min and 10 sec have elapsed. And then it gives me a I/O Disk error, running disk i o status code : 24 (around 40% total). I have just checked for errors on the disk and only found 49 reparsed files(not sure what that is). I'll have to give it another go and see if this works.
