Last week I created a small 3 workstation network, 1 connected directly to the 2Wire router and the other 2 disk or network wireless and set up my program to run on the front workstation which the programs resides. Created a network drive that points to the folder where the program is and execute an instance of the program. Now while trying to update the data base from the back workstation I keep getting this error after a few updates. I have done some research and found the the cause could be nics drivers, (latest installed) other posts mention the temp variable (done Temp=C:\Temp; Tmp=c:\Temp) with a temp on drive C. but still get this error. Any suggestions? Your help would be greatly apreciated. 1 Frontworkstation windows XP(sp3) Access 2003(sp3) 2 Backworkstation windows 2000(sp4) Access 2003(SP3) 3 Backworkstation windows xp(sp3) Access 2003(sp3) Reply With Quote 05-26-09,20:51 #2 StarTrekker View Profile View Forum Posts Visit Homepage L33t Helpa Munky Join Date Nov 2007 Location Adelaide, South Australia Posts 4,049 Sounds like a networking issue to me. Solved Causes for 3043 error (Disk or Network Error) Posted on 2009-10-10 MS Access 2 Verified Solutions 13 Comments 3,048 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-28 What can cause a 3043 error (Disk or Network Error)? I am getting the 3043 error in an Access application on same workstation where other Access applications keep running. If the network truly was truly down, I would imagine that all Access applications would fail. Are there causes other than network failure that generate a 3043 error? 0 Question by:compuzak1 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 5 Best Solution byBellone Also, if you are using autonumber fields in your tables, it's worth checking that none of them have lost their 'seeding', i.e. they don't come up with the next consecutive number when you add a new record. Does the error occur at the same point in the execution of a routine, or is it random? 0 LVL 5 Overall: Level 5 MS Access 5 Message Accepted Solution by:Bellone2009-10-10 Also, if you are using autonumber fields in your tables, it's worth checking that none of them have lost their 'seeding', i.e. they don't come up with the next consecutive number when you add a new record. This type of corruption will sometimes give a 3034. Remedy is to create a new, empty, table, run the existing data into it, then delete the first table and rename the second to the original. 0 Message Author Comment by:compuzak12009-10-10 I have tried Compact and Repair on both the front end and back end. This occurs at random routines, but always on when writing or updating a record (haven't pin pointed exactly, but it is always involved in a DAO file operation). There are autonumber fields in many of the tables that are updated via DAO vba code using seek, addnew, edit, and update commands. Some of the tables have missing numbers!!! But none of the tables are missin
