That would be as easy as it comes. Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top stander2 Posts: 17 This post has been reported. hI whs How do I get to the CMD- every time I reboot I get the

This went smoothly and there have been no problems. Having ordered a Phenom II 550 processor to replace my 4850e, I updated the BIOS using @BIOS. I was on https://www.avforums.com/threads/read-disk-error-after-bios-update.1061357/ version F4 and @BIOS said that the latest fersion was F10, so I updated. When finished, I restarted the PC and saw that the BIOS was now showing Version F8a on startup. There didnt seem to be any problems though. Yesterday I installed the new processor along with a mini ninja HS. This also passed without any problems other than device manager displaying the new processor as "unknown AMD processor". I read that to rectify this, I would need to update the BIOS. So once again initiated @BIOS, which said that the latest version was F10. Again I installed and during the process, click the box on the bottom right, which I think said "clear CMOS", or something similar. On finishing, it asked that I restart. That was the last time that my PC booted up. Now, on start up, at the top of the first page, the PC is saying "Memory DDR2 unganged" It then goes to the next screen and says "Disk Read Error - Please press ctrl +alt+ delete to restart" This problem just repeats itself. I am absolutely at a loss as to what to do next. I could try putting the old CPU back in, but I fear that I ha

Hi, FYI. Motherboard is Abit NF7-S v2.0 with Sil 3112 SATA150 controller. Hard drive is an Hitachi 160Gb SATA. My Dad's computer has been having some problems with USB devices not working. Like ipod Nano and a bluetooth usb adaptor. The only thing I could think of was changing the bios from an unofficial modded bios back to an official Abit bios. I downloaded the bios and flashed it, within windows, using the Abit flashing utility. It flashed fine but when the system reboots I'm getting a "Disk read error, press ctrl alt del to restart system". Since then, I have tried 3 different offical Abit Bios. I flashed these using a bootable CD. I have also tried the Windows XP repair/recovery utility included on the XP installation CD. I have scanned the disk for errors using windows recovery. No errors. I have also written a new boot sector but to no avail. There are some other options that windows recovery has but I'm unsure of what these actually do. Can anyone help at all?
