my Windows XP I get this message "Disk read error occurred press Ctl+Alt =Del to restart. Every time I restart I get the same message. Does

anyone have any ideas about the steps I should take in an attempt to fix this problem. I have searched the forums but am a bit lost about some of the suggestions. Any simply explained suugested solutions would be appreciated. Thanks Reports: ·

Did a chkdsk and all is ok.Did a fixboot via the recovery console. It replaced the boot record.Checked boot.ini. All is ok.Deleted the hibernation partition from the drive.Replaced NTLDR with a known good version.Still does not work.Any ideas please? Post a reply Discussion

Osama Javaid December 8, 2012 Facebook Twitter Pinterest Stumbleupon Whatsapp Email Sometimes when I start my Windows 7 PC, an error ‘disk read error, press ALT+CTRL+DEL to restart' appears on a black screen and Windows does not load. When I restart, the same error appears. I unplugged the SATA cable and power cable of my hard drive (Western Digital WD2500AAJS) and re-plugged and it started. I started my PC the same way today. This happened 2 times last week and every time I had to do the same to start my PC. Kindly tell me what is the problem and what to do? Should I change my hard drive? I already made a back-up of my data.
