PS3 that can see my Plex Media Server (Ubuntu server 12.04) and it's sections. Normally they can play the media just fine but lately they display 'No Media Found' when I try to view a section. The PS3 additionally gives the common 'Error 501' DLNA error. The Plex server is always responsive via the web UI and native Plex clients (PC / Android) works just fine. While I can ssh into the Plex server and do a start/stop, which will fix the DLNA dlna protocol error 7531 issue temporarily, this is a real pain. While tinkering with my 1st gen WDTV I discovered the following workaround:If I navigate to the 'Remote Video' section I can drill down into my sections and play media.Once I browse a section this way, I can once again browse that section from the main section list in Plex. This works the same way on each client. Category Gaming License Standard YouTube License Show more Show less Loading... I received the DLNA error 2006 when accessing video from my PC. After reading much and trying various solutions what worked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXUEkH1DSZw for me was simply disabling and enabling the option of media server under network settings on the PS3. After doing this i now can watch video without the DLNA error 2006, thanks. On my PS3 it http://www.universalmediaserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2395 takes 30 seconds or more to list the files in a directory, and sometimes just times out with a DLNA 2006 error. I'll try your suggestion, but if I run PS3 Media server I don't have these issues, so it seems like it's a UMS problem not a PS3 problem. Anyway, when I had this problem I found another fix.Go into Network and Sharing center, go to change adapter settings (or whatever you have for adapter settings), open the router, properties, configure, find the advanced tab, go to speed, it should be set to auto, change it to 100 (I changed it to 100 full duplex, I have no idea what the full or half duplex is)And that's it, after I made that change everything loads in an instant now. Good luck.EDIT:OOOOK, it seems that routers come equipped with a bunch of other options that will also slow down your connection speed. Weird. So in the same area I disabled "green ethernet" "energy efficient" and "flow control." The first 2 for
Comment Filed Under: Gaming Tagged: ps3 A friend of mine purchased a PlayStation 3 and connected it to his wireless Linksys router. Whenever he downloaded updates to games, it would start the download then http://www.technipages.com/ps3-dlna-protocol-error-2101-fix freeze at about 32 percent. At other times it would throw an error saying DNLA Protocol Error 2101. We could access the PlayStation Store without a problem though. After connecting the PS3 directly to the cable modem, the PS3 worked fine. So we then knew the problem had to be with the Linksys router configuration. After checking out the router settings, we figured out that UPnP was dlna protocol enabled. The UPnP feature is supposed to automatically grant permission to devices to access needed network resources. It doesn't always play well with certain devices though. So we disabled UPnP with these steps: Login to the Linksys router's admin panel. You can usually get there by opening a web browser and going to "http://192.168.1.1" (usually this is the IP address used, but it may be different depending on dlna protocol error your configuration) in a web browser. Go to "Connectivity" in the left pane. Click the "Administration" tab. Uncheck "UPnP" to disable it. Select "OK", and you're done. If you have a router from a different brand, check the user guide for information on how to disable this feature.
