[While Burning] DMA-driver error, CRC error [While Burning] New 03 Nov 2008 #1 Cyberwolf View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Member Join Date : Sep 2008 Posts : 83 Windows Vista Home Edition SP1 32Bit Local Time: 04:39 DMA-driver error, CRC error [While Burning] Vista Home Prem 32bit SP1 I am encountering a "DMA-driver error, CRC error" when attemping to burn CDs/DVDs that I have not encountered before. I am using a LG 22x DVD-RW Burner Manufacturer : HL-DT-ST Model : DVD-RAM GH22LP20 Revision : 1.01 It has no jumpers on the back of the drive and is connected as Master on the only IDE port I have on my motherboard. (It's a Non-SATA drive) Media wise I am using brand name Memorex discs that I haven't had an issue with before. Errors occur at 16x or even 4x (16x rated discs) I am not sure if this issue occured after SP1 or on a fresh install. However I did upgrade the burner as I first suspected a drive malfunction. This one is brand new and gives an identical error. It seems it won't write the "Lead-In" information but will burn some useless data to the disc before it spits out the error. CRC Error Hi, I'm new here. just joined the forum today. I have this problem which I have never encounter before. Hope all the experts here could help me out. I've recently assembled my new PC with help from a friend. I have 1 DVDROM drive (LG GCR8163B) and 1 DVD-Writer (LG GS-4166B). I tried to burn some data from hard disk using Nero 7.0.8.2 and I got the following error message: "DMA Driver Error. CRC Error". I also tried dvd to dvd copy but got the same error. My DVD Writer is Primary Master and DVDROM Primary slave. I swap them around and still get the same error. I then unplug my DVDROM leaving only the DVD Writer. This apparently worked. I also did some experimenting by going into device manager, ATAPI CONTROLLER and changing all primary and secondary transfer mode to PIO. This work but problem is great slow down in speed. Hope somebody here can help me out. I don't want to have only dvd writer working while living out my fully working dvdrom idle. HELP!!
