broadcast the SID and with a WEP key. After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in an other post a dns error has occurred nw-31254-5 here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this.... ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks! Typing the DNS servers method never worked for me. User Info: solidsnakex14 solidsnakex14 - 8 years ago Clarification Request:: Does the internet work on the computer User Info: clayyalc clayyalc - 8 years ago Additional Details: Yes i got a new router and i can sign in but on connnection tests playstation network fails and in my online games i always get connection interupted. Do i need to get my PS3 fixed? User Info: solidsnakex14 solidsnakex14 - 8 years ago Clarification Request:: How many computers/devices are connecting via your router? From time to time I will have trouble connecting, with the same message you are getting, and its usually an ip conflict with something else. I can access the internet on both machines, but it gets really wonky. Try disabling your other devices, turning on the ps3, letting it get settled, then turning the other devices back on. User Info: Infinicorps Infinicorps - 8 years ago Additional Details: I only have one computer and it says connection itterupted all the time. User Info: solidsnakex14 solidsnakex14 - 8 years ago Accepted Answer Switch to OpenDNShttp://www.opendns.com/Steps:1.) Open your routers setup thingy (default is 192.168.1.1 if you haven't configured your router, your username and pass most probably is "admin")
