Ps3 Dns Error Fix
DNS problems I had with connecting my PS3 to my network has been resolved. I have LinkSys wireless router which is working perfectly for other devices (like laptop, Xbox360, TiVO). My wireless network is configured
Ps3 Dns Error 80710102 Wired Connection
to NOT broadcast the SID and with a WEP key. After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in ps3 dns error 2016 an other post here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this.... ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks! Typing the DNS servers method never worked for me. This router uses the new ac technology which is replacing the old n routers. It is specifically designed to stream video and transfer large files. I bought it because my old router http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network-Support/DNS-error-80710102-resolved/td-p/25577954 (an old D-Link) has been giving me issues. It is pretty slow and often during streaming it has to stop to buffer, and sometimes it just flat out stops transmitting a signal for a few minutes. Anyway, here is my issue. I have set up the new router and it works great. I can get online with all my devices (including my PS3), and at first there were no problems. I watched videos through both https://www.3dbuzz.com/forum/threads/201330-PS3-amp-new-router-issues the Netflix and Amazon Instant Video apps without issue. Then, a couple of days ago (the router is still less than a week old), my wife called me up at work and said that both streaming apps were signing out and wouldn't sign back in! I got home and troubleshooted (troubleshot?) for a couple of very frustrating hours, and eventually it just began working again. The next day, it did it again. This time I couldn't get it to work again. I still had full internet connectivity on my phone and tablet, so the router was functioning the way it should...but the two streaming apps just refused to sign in and work. To verify that it was the router and not the PS3, I swapped out the router back with the old D-Link and all of a sudden I had no problems. It seems like the problem is with my router, but the problem only exists on my PS3! This, of course, is why I'm posting here. Has anyone else had these issues? Is there a compatibility issue with ac routers maybe? Does anyone have an ac router with no streaming problems? I am ready to pull out my hair, and the last thing I want to do is send the router back. Two more things to note...even when the apps were working fine,

If you r constantly getting connection interruptions during game-play then here is what u need to do. If u r using a router (no matter the brand), the problem probably has to do with the router. In order to find out, disconnect your PS from the router and plug it directly into you modem. dns error If your modem is not near your playstation then move it close to the ps3. The modem plugs directly into your cable line so there is a good chance that the television you play your PS3 on has a cable connection. One you have connected your PS to your modem press the reset button on the modem. Turn your PS on and go directly to your network settings. Click on Internet Connection Test (do not bother trying to ps3 dns error set up a connection manually, if you do this chances are you will mess something up). If you are getting a connection then you are ready to go. There is a good chance you may never get a connection interruption again. For the time being you will be able to enjoy playing call of duty like you once did. Now u might ask what am I supposed to do with my router? I need it for my laptop, xbox, etc? Just buy a new one. Chances are the one that you have is garbage. It might have worked great at once, but hey, these things happen. I suggest doing your research and find a router that works well with gaming. I hope this works. In summary, it is not your playstation or your internet service provider that is giving you problems... It is your router... connect your PS to your router to test this theory... I have got that error before but now am getting error(NNN) NNN-NNNNThanks Steve Expert: Karn Griffen replied6 years ago. Ok, I will work with you until you can get this fixed. First:Check the routers SSID is not too long and simple (no symbols). Then make sure your WPA2 key isn't too long just in case (but don't make it too easy), or use WEP. Then in your routers firewall panel make sure the PS3 has these ports open * TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223 * UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658 Also make sure your ps3 network setup is correct, goto start, run, type cmd press enter, type ipconfig /all and use the same DNS servers on your ps3. Ask Your Own Networking Question Customer: replied6 years ago. Ok will give that a go.When setting up my connection with "easy" mode on my PS3 i get(NNN) NNN-NNNN, when using "custom" mode i get 80710102.Ok did exactly what you said, and during the internet connection test it's failing to obtain an IP address. I'm using custom mode with a static IP, the same one that I inputed when I enabled the virtual servers. If i do the same thing but instead using the primary DNS server located on the home page of my router (logged into it with 192.168.2.1) which was 192.28.80.140 (instead of 192.168.2.1, which i found in ipconfig/all) then it succeeds in finding an IP address but fails the internet connection test with error 80710102 Customer: replied6 years ago. Ok I've tried a wired connection again, and it seems to be working, but that in
