When I resume from sleep, no web pages will load (other programs such as Hamachi VPN are also unable to locate their servers). If I use Google Chrome, it says that DNS lookups are failing. However, if I then open a command window and use NSLOOKUP to perform lookups for the web pages that just failed, the lookups appear to be working correctly. So the command prompt is able to perform lookups, while other applications such as web browsers are not. I can clear this problem by disabling then enabling the network adapter in 'Network and Sharing Center'. After doing this, everything works again. It's a pain to have to do that each time I resume from sleep, though. The only way to get internet access is to restart the computer. This impossibility is not restricted to WiFi but exists for ethernet cable connection as well. In WiFi mode, I can connect to the access point but it indicates "Limited access", which means that http://superuser.com/questions/411607/dns-lookup-fails-after-resume-from-sleep it cannot get through to the internet. With cable, the connection is not even recocgnized (not shown in Network and sharing center).as soon as I reboot, everything works smoothly (both WiFi and cable). This problem is not restricted to my home, it happens for any internet connection at any location, regardless of the country or setup.Any suggestion on how I can fix this problem would be very welcome. Click Start, right click Computer and choose Properties. 2. Click Device Manager. 3. Navigate to your network adapter, right click it and choose Properties. 4. Choose Power Management tab. 5. Please uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.” 6. Restart the computer and test this issue again. Hope it helps. Thanks. If you like challenges, it seems that this is a good one... :-)I in fact suspect that the problem is not related to the network adapters (or network drivers) because I have also installed a USB key connecting to the internet via a telephone GSM chip. The connection through the GSM chip has the exact same problem and in the Device manager properties of this device the option that you mention is not even listed (there is no power management tab)since the same problem happens with ethernet, with WiFi and with the GSM chip, it seems that it is a software issue in iden
