I'll go to a web page (Let's say Google) and I'll get page not found. I'll then sit and press F5 to refresh the page until eventually after a minute or so it'll suddenly work. All will be well for a while after that

until suddenly it'll happen again. Now, there are some peculiarities to this problem... This only happens on one laptop. My work laptop on the same wifi network always seems to be fine, as does my XBox. If I'm downloading a large file, the download continues even while I'm failing to bring up web pages. Sometimes I can get some pages, and not others. Sometimes I can get partial pages. My limited knowledge of such things seems to suggest some kind of DNS lookup problem, albeit one that's confined to one laptop. Does this sound remotely possible? Is there something I may have missed here? Oh, and I'm on Windows Vista, in case that matters. windows networking wireless-networking dns share|improve this question asked Nov 25 '09 at 22:25 izb 67141221 I had a problem with my software firewall. Intermittent dns issues , router problem effects multiple devices Started by IdahoDaddio , Nov 18 2015 09:59 PM Please log in to reply 7 replies to this topic #1 IdahoDaddio IdahoDaddio Members 5 posts OFFLINE Posted 18 November 2015 - 09:59 PM For the last several months we have had intermittent issues with all of our devices dropping Wi-Fi internet actually even are Ethernet devices have not been able to log onto the Internet with many DNS error codes. The curious thing is we returned our router to our service provider and got a new router and we are still having these issues and it's not just one computer it also affects our mobile devices as well. I need some advice on what to do, this has spanned two different routers and can't be a one device problem. Edited by hamluis, 19 November 2015 - 05:07 AM. I opted to buy my own and stop paying to lease theirs for $15. a month. Try a reset on the router if you haven't yet, if that doesn't work, do a default reset on the router, usually through a small hole with a switch behind. Check the router manual.
