This project already compiles and runs fine from Visual Studio 2008. In Blend however, I'm getting mysterious errors that make no sense: For example, I have a class that derives from Control : namespace Company.WPFControls.SearchTextBox { public class SearchTextBox : Control { ... } } And I try to use it in a resource, in the same assembly, to assign a style:

Silverlight > Visual Studio & Silverlight xaml namespace Development Tools Question 0 Sign in to vote Strange thing happens depending if you create your ivalueconverter wpf xaml file in blend or VS. If you add it in blend it adds these namespaces: xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc=http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006 mc:Ignorable="d" but if you accidentaly remove them http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1821493/expression-blend-getting-error-xxx-does-not-exist-in-the-namespace-xxx-but you will get this error in Blend : MS.Internal.XcpImports.MethodEx. The other way around if you add the xaml in VS and then add the namespaces afterwards to be able to get the d:DesignWidth and Heigh in blend you get the error XAML Namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008 is not resolved. I didn't get this error in my machine. Here is what I did. Feel free to let me know if I miss anything. 1. Open VS and create SL project. 2. Check xmlns:d=http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008 is in XAML or not. 3. Open XAML in Blend 3 (Solution Explorer => Open in Expression Blend) Observe: No error in Blend.

This error can occur http://omegacoder.com/?p=779 when certain Xaml elements added by blend have not been properly ignored during non https://github.com/Windows-XAML/Template10/issues/239 design/debug situations and Blend or Visual Studio reports such error. To resolve the error one must add the mc:Ignorable attribute to the namespace declarations to inform the Xaml compiler to ignore a specific specified namespace at appropriate times. T0 fix the above error where the blend namspace is qualified by d one needs to ingore D as does not shown on the highlighted line: xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d" How Does This Happen? I ran into this recently when Blend 4 added Xaml to allow me to populate (bind generated data) to a datagrid during design time (only in blend mind you) to work with the design data. Of course the blend namespace was there, but it never added the ignorable. It actually failed due from this line because its does not exist bringing in the blend namespace here, though I was never informed of the exact line.

I have this same error in a previous Template10 project with just the Interaction namespace error. I've updated all my tools extensions and NuGets. Closed the solution, opened cleaned and rebuilt. The app appears to work correctly. When I 'Design in blend' the project opens with no errors and the xaml designer renders. In VS I open the DetailsPage.xaml that appears to have the same namespaces. Designer renders and no errors are shown. Windows XAML member JerryNixon commented Oct 16, 2015 I am going to guess that this is a copy/paste inheritance error. Ha! You need to do two things. The first is to make sure you have referenced the Behaviors SDK in your project (right-click References, select Windows/Extensions/Behaviors SDK) and then add this to your xmlns at the top of your page: xmlns:Behaviors="using:Template10.Behaviors" xmlns:Core="using:Microsoft.Xaml.Interactions.Core" xmlns:Interactivity="using:Microsoft.Xaml.Interactivity" JerryNixon added the question label Oct 16, 2015 Windows XAML member jhalbrecht commented Oct 16, 2015 "After installing the Template10 upgrade, in a File->New project I named T10Minimal1.1 I get this error" It wasn't a copy paste situation.
