Could it be my computer's security settings that were preventing me from installing new fonts? Because the same error message appears for all other fonts I downloaded here too.#7notfon1234 QuoteAug 16, 2011 at 17:48 Do you have another computer? try downloading fonts on that computer, then see if they re valid. Windows 7 is as simple as a right-click and install. Is he brain dead?" Turns out that he was right, and I was able to replicate the error on my computer: "The file 'C:\path\font.ttc' does not https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/67085-how-to-install-an-invalid-font appear to be a valid font" The solution should work for both Vista and 7 users. All you have to do is use an online converter. DISCLOSURE: I'm not the owner of onlinefontconverter.com. Therefore, I can't guarantee this works for everyone, and I can't (trouble)support a tool I can't control. I'm just sharing this tool and how it works, because it worked for me. If you're looking for immediate help, please contact the does not developer directly by going to their help section by clicking on "Send us feedback." Steps (6 total) 1 Go to http://onlinefontconverter.com/ 2 Upload your font You can drag and drop! 3 Convert the font to TTF Choose a different format if you desire. 4 Download your TTF font Click "TTF" next to the Download 5 Unzip the file and Extract You're not going to receive a ZIP file, rather you'll be getting a TAR.GZ does not appear file (popular in Linux and Unix). No problem. Windows has programs that can open it. I like 7-zip. Your TTF file(s) are in a folder named "onlinefontconverter.com/converted-files". Extract these font files somewhere that you can get to them easily like your Desktop. 6 Install your converted font Go to your converted font file(s), right-click on it, then click Install. Conclusion That's it! All you have to do is convert the font and then Windows will accept it. 7 Comments Jalapeno AndroidChris Feb 5, 2014 at 05:46pm That's interesting.
