starting the NetBackup Admin Console From: LuptonD AT starcity.com DOT au (Daniel Lupton) Date: Fri, 21 Jan 2005 19:51:43 +1100 We have just migrated our test environment from NT domain to Active Directory. Since the NetBackup server was migrated following error is displayed when the Administration console is started: 'The selected host "backuptest" does not have the service BPRD operating (Error 23). Make sure all the services are running on the host." When I click on 'OK' the administration console opens but nothing is displayed. I checked the https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Backup-Recovery-Community-Blog/Netbackup-does-not-have-the-service-BPRD-operating-Error-25/ba-p/789783 services and they are all running. I then removed the server from the console and then re-added it using the 'browse' button and selecting the server on the AD domain to no avail. I then clicked on 'New Window From Here' in desperation and when the new console opened it works without an issue. After this we https://adsm.org/lists/html/Veritas-bu/2005-01/msg00318.html rebooted the server again and the same thing occurred. I have attempted to search the Veritas web site but can not find any solution. Does anyone know why this is occurring and how to fix it or avoid it when we migrate our production environment to AD? We are running NetBackup 5.1 on a Windows 2000 server. Thank you in advance. This problem can occur when a process tries to connect to the NetBackup request daemon (bprd) or database manager daemon (bpdbm) and the daemon is not running. (On Windows, these daemons are the NetBackup Request Manager and NetBackup Database Manager services.) It can also occur if the network or server is heavily loaded and has slow response time, or if an evaluation license key for NetBackup BusinesServer or DataCenter has expired.Try the following:1.On a UNIX NetBackup master server, verify that the bprd and bpdbm processes are running. If these processes are not running, start them. On aWindows master server, verify that the NetBackup Request Manager and NetBa

NBU 4.5 Datacenter on Windows 2000. When I start the Administration Console I get: "The selected host "server" does not have the service BPRD operating. (Error 25) Make sure all the services are running on the host. Bpcd is running, as well as port 13724. All of the NBU services are running that I can tell from the service manager. Any ideas? I'm not quite sure where to start troubleshooting this one. -Jonathan Mon Jun 05, 2006 10:20 am Guest Admin console cant connect locally... Start by checking the name in the Servers list. Its probably a name resolution issue or Configuration issue (wrong name is on the top of the list) Hope that helps Steve On 6/5/06, Martin, Jonathan (Contractor)
